Emergency Services

The first thing to know if you are in an emergency is that the Australian Emergency Services phone number is 000.

Just dial 000 and you will be put connected to an emergency services operator. If a person is unable to speak English, call this number and, say ‘Police’, ‘Fire’ or ‘Ambulance’. Once connected to the relevant emergency services, a translator will be organized to assist with the call.

Perth has all the normal health and emergency services that you can expect to find in a big city. Naturally though, there will be some differences from what your probably used to in your home country.

Here are some list of important health care places in Perth:

Ambulance Charges
Just one trip in an ambulance can cost between AUD$670 to over $5,000, if an air ambulance is necessary. So, check that you have sufficient travel insurance, or you are covered by the Reciprocal Healthcare Arrangement.
